Deer Lake is an adult independent living retirement community located in the heart of Bellevue, a suburb of Nashville, close to numerous retail, service, restaurant, and medical facilities. It consists of 135 one and two bedroom residences within 64 buildings. Additionally, there is an all purpose Activities Building for the enjoyment of all residents. It is available to individuals and couples who are 55 years of age and older whether working or retired. In the case of a couple, one spouse must be at least 55. Occupants should be in reasonably good health, ambulatory, and have no one under the age of 21 living with them.
Each residential unit is owned by a private individual and the community is operated much like a Homeowner's Association (HOA), with its own Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and Master Deed, under the leadership of Tennessee Baptist Adult Homes, Inc. Homeowners are responsible for their taxes, utilities, condo-type insurance, and a monthly association fee which covers management, outside maintenance, lawn care, disposal service, property and liability insurance, and community utilities.
